NEW Email / Wire Fraud Scam

EMAL / WIRE FRAUD SCAM

We had another email / wire fraud situation yesterday. This time the bad guy actually called our agent.

For all the details, please watch this short video.

PLEASE CHANGE YOUR EMAIL PASSWORD

Here are a few steps you can take to protect yourself and your clients.

1. Change your email password on a regular basis.

2. Educated your clients about wire fraud.

3. NEVER email wire instructions to your client.

4. ALWAYS have your clients call the title company to verify the wire instructions over the phone.5. Stay off public Wi-Fi.

6. Share this Wire Fraud Notice with all your clients.

PLEASE NOTE… This is why we have a Wire Fraud Acknowledgement form. It reduces our liability, but more importantly it should open the door to a conversation about wire fraud.
